Time to get moving ...
Do you ever find training for a race daunting? or even the thought of signing up for one? Well, I have completed the Virginia Beach Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon somewhere around 10 times ... by now you would think I would have my training schedule down! Well ... not so much! I have had times where I didn't train ... I just went out and ran it. I've also trained really well a few times. My goal is to train hard this summer ... and that does not just mean running! Being in my late 30s does not allow me to not train ... so this past weekend I have been putting a lot of thought into my training program!
Needless to say, being a Beachbody Coach provides me a lot of variety in workouts ... and I have NOT been running (does that one time in Chico, CA count last month?) ... so I desperately need to get my body back into running shape without causing any type of injury ... so HERE is my plan:
Runner's World 8 Week Beginners Guide: this will allow me to create a strong base
Core de Force: MMA style workout that will strengthen more core
Hal Higdon Half Marathon Training: this has always been my base
PiYo: mixture of pilates and yoga to keep me strong and limber
Oxycise: Breathing exercises to keep my lungs strong and able to take in more oxygen
Yoga: on Monday night's I attend a yoga class ... at a bar ... so yes, I do have a beer afterward :) Life is about balance!
The calendar has been started and so far so good ... yesterday I did a Core de Force workout and tonight I went to yoga ... and I am about to Oxycise :) I will go to bed happy! Especially knowing I am on track!
Well ... goodnight and sweet dreams! If you have a race or event coming up and need a workout to help you reach your goals, let me know! I am hear to help guide you along :)
Nameste,
Heather
